One of the things that makes CohnReznick the firm we are today is our ability to come together to address challenges in our society. This is a key part of our Sense of Purpose and the way we help strengthen our communities. CR GREEN, our newest Employee Resource Group (ERG), is dedicated to identifying opportunities to contribute to the advancement of environmental change, both in our work and in our everyday lives. All employees are welcome to join fellow eco enthusiasts across the firm in this casual network to discuss ideas, share tips, and even organize meetups and cleanups in your office or region.
Our Charlotte office’s Diversity & Inclusion team recently participated in the Charlotte Pride Parade. This year's festival and parade celebrated 20 years of Charlotte Pride and 40 years of Pride legacy. The festivities included more than 40 floats, 170 different groups, and an event record-breaking 275,000 attendees. The CohnReznick team enjoyed brunch together before walking the streets of uptown Charlotte with rainbow-colored shirts and signs, passing out stickers, and celebrating all the ways the LGBTQ community has grown and triumphed in the Queen City. Everyone had a laugh as the Parade emcee introduced the firm and reminded drag queens to file their taxes!

Our newest office (Miami!) recently celebrated its first community service day at Zoo Miami – also known as The Miami-Dade Zoological Park and Gardens and the only sub-tropical zoo in the continental U.S. In addition to making a difference for local wildlife by cleaning up algae from a duck pond, the team took time together to take in the sights at the zoo. What a wonderful team building experience!
Over the past two months, our Charlotte office CR CARES team has participated in a food drive as well as a blood drive. The food drive supported Bags of Hope, an organization that brings hope to the Lake Norman and greater Charlotte area by supplying free weekend food provisions to schoolchildren who experience food insecurity. This year, the office team collected nearly $1,000 in donations which provided 400 pounds of food. To break it down even further, that means the Charlotte team ultimately was able to donate 3,541 non-perishable food items! The blood drive took place at the office and supported OneBlood, an organization that services the greater Southeast region of the U.S. and works to keep all donated blood for use in that area. Over the course of a day, the office donated 18 units of whole blood – that’s enough to help up to 54 patients in need!
CohnReznick was proud to sponsor and attend the 2022 National Association for Black Accountants (NABA, Inc.) Recharge Convention & Expo which provided professionals and Black students from across the country with the opportunity to experience the power and innovation that comes from engaging with NABA’s network of professionals, partners, and supporters. This year, colleagues from CR BLAC leadership, Campus Recruiting, and Learning and Development teamed up to offer a “Preparing for the Conference” virtual event prior to the conference; give a breakfast presentation to kick off the student experience at the conference; and host a CohnReznick Career Expo booth. The breakfast presentation included a discussion about personal brand and provided attendees with advice on how network, interview, and make the most of every opportunity that presented itself at the conference. Allison Adams-Jones, CohnReznick Senior Manager and President of CR BLAC, spoke about CohnReznick as a firm, its commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging, and the mission of CR BLAC.
Our senior campus recruiting specialist for the Mid-Atlantic region, Anita Galiano, recently shared a fantastic LinkedIn shoutout to our Tysons interns and Tysons office manager Carol Rowland regarding their participation in Red Flag Mania. "Meet the CohnReznick Tysons team of Lead Investigators (aka summer interns) that worked to crack this Red Flag Mania fraud case yesterday. We also had undercover virtual investigators digging through the evidence to find the culprit! Shout out to our Special CR Tysons agent Carol Rowland for her diligent work protecting the evidence!"
