It’s one thing to issue statements about celebrating Black history. It’s quite another to back up the talk with an inclusive environment where Black employees advance in their careers, and with a corporate commitment to lasting social impact. We've pledged to increase the number of People of Color executives in our ranks by 50% over the next five years. Our diverse Actions Speaks task force is continually working on training, education and career advancement goals for Black employee with accountability metrics. And to strengthen our culture of respect and inclusion, we have eight employee resource groups (ERGs) that celebrate different traditions and backgrounds. Additionally, we're proud to take action to create positive change and a more just and equitable world, from committing $1 million to support social justice and civil and human rights, to supporting a new class of purpose-driven entrepreneurs tackling social injustice and systemic racism in this year's Cox Enterprises Social Impact Accelerator.

From team member Matt Bohach: "My local Cox Automotive coworkers and I took some time yesterday for a #kindnessdrive to Habitat for Humanity's ReStore in Akron, Ohio. We donated some items, donated some cash, and bought items at the store, which supports this important charitable organization. Being stuck in the house more often means everyone needs affordable and safe housing. Thanks to Adam Ernst, Chad Joeright, Dennis McGuinness, Chris Donato, Chris Osborne, Carol Campbell, and Eric Sanata for banding together." That's another $25 donation from Cox Automotive to the American Red Cross as a result of Matt's post! Here's the deal: Until September 13, share a public post on social media that shows how you're using your vehicle to "be kind." Use the hashtag #KindnessDrive so we can see it. For every post we see, we'll make a $25 donation to the American Red Cross to fund the purchase of another emergency response vehicle. These response vehicles help transport Red Cross staff and supplies to provide relief in disasters or emergencies (think Hurricane Laura).
A recent #KindnessDrive that should make a lot of school children, teachers, and school staff happy! Thanks to team members Shannon Newman, Stephanie Schwartz, Kristy Thompson, and Steve Mitchell! Shannon writes: #KindnessDrive 2020. Helping "Stuff the Bus" for Family Resource Center!! I challenge my family, friends and COX Automotive family to participate in their own #KindnessDrive! Another #KindnessDrive post means another $25 donation from us to the American Red Cross toward the purchase of an emergency response vehicle. Until September 13, tag #KindnessDrive in a social media post to show how you're using your vehicles to be kind.
