You've seen the videos on social media. Drive-by graduation or birthday celebrations, food deliveries to neighbors in need ? or parades and "honk-a-thons" to honor our healthcare heroes to name just a few. Every day, we are turning to our vehicles to drive kindness and keep connected to our communities during the pandemic. You've likely participated in some form or another already. And we'd like to know about it! Show us in a social post how your vehicle has helped you perform acts of kindness. Be sure to use the #KindnessDrive hashtag and make sure your post is public. For every post, we'll make a $25 donation to the American Red Cross to fund the purchase of an emergency response vehicle. So, take a #KindnessDrive with us and share the good you and your vehicle are doing!

We celebrated Juneteenth last week and made an announcement to update our community on how we're using our $1 million fund to support social justice and civil and human rights. Read more below. Repost. . . It’s fitting that today on the 155th anniversary of Juneteenth — when many in our country recognize the strength, resilience and often painful history of Black Americans — we share an update about our commitment to racial and social justice for all our fellow citizens. We had an open dialogue with Cox employees on which organizations our recently established $1 million fund should support, and we’re pleased to announce that we’ll be committing funds to: Equal Justice Initiative, United Negro College Fund, National Urban League as well as the National Center for Civil and Human Rights (NCCHR) and the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Action. #juneteenth #lifeatcox
As millions of people across the country raise their voices in response to the senseless killing of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery and the ongoing problem of racism and injustices, we are taking the next few days to share the perspectives of our employees and communicate some of the immediate ways the Cox family of businesses is responding. This must be a turning point in our nation’s history. https://bit.ly/2XSLn6Q Alvin Anderson, a 17-year Cox employee, shares his perspective on this wake-up call for the nation.
There is no place for systemic racism or discrimination in our society. The way things have been must change, and we stand together with the black community. Today, we established a $1 million fund to help organizations that support social justice and civil and human rights. We know this is a first step and we pledge to do more, both within our company and in our communities.

The James M. Cox Foundation recently announced a local gift of $25K to St. Mary's Food Bank Alliance of Phoenix, AZ - a grant that will provide 175,000 meals to area residents in need. In conjunction with the grant, a group of Cox Automotive and Cox Communications employees volunteered together last week (while practicing social distancing guidelines, of course) to assist the St. Mary's team in preparing food boxes for local distribution to more than 400 families.
