Jonesfield Township celebrates DTE Appreciation Day -On Saturday, Oct. 24, the Jonesfield Township community gathered for a day of Halloween and Homecoming festivities and recognition of DTE Energy. The morning began with a parade where Matt Wagner, Manager of Renewable Energy Development, served as Grand Marshal. Community members enjoyed several DTE sponsored events, such as Trunk or Treat, pumpkin carving, a costume closet, and the homecoming tailgate, all leading up to Merrill High School’s homecoming football game that afternoon. Since 2018, we have played an instrumental role in supporting several local events such as Farm Fest, Senior Thanksgiving Dinner and Christmas in the Village. Our extensive civic efforts in this community, led by Site Manager Jason Hannath, parallels our partnership with local landowners through the pending development of Meridian Wind Park which is scheduled to come online by the end of 2021. “Everywhere [DTE] goes, they end up being such a great corporate neighbor and a great friend of the people of the community,” said Senator Ken Horn.
At DTE, people are the center of our business. We start first with our 10,000 employees working to serve customers and communities with affordable, reliable and clean energy. And we know that if each of us is healthy and well, we will be able to give our best personal energy to our work, our families and our communities. That's why we have embarked on a journey to become the healthiest and most well-being-supportive organization. For years we have had a laser focus on safety, which allowed us to make tremendous strides in our Safety journey. We are now widening the lens to focus on Health & Well-being with the same rigor, vigor and instrumentation. Caring for employees' well-being is a natural extension of our focus on keeping employees safe. Working together, we will achieve our goals through integrated, best-in-class programs spanning all four areas of total well-being: physical health, emotional wellness, social connectivity and financial fitness. We will support all employees regardless of where they are along their health and well-being journey.
