This week’s featured act of DG Kindness is from Joe one of our store managers in Kentucky! March 2021 began with high water and flooding across the state of Kentucky. Due to the impassable roads, Joe was unable to get to his store, but that didn’t stop him from lending a hand. This week’s featured act of DG Kindness is from Lisa! On a snowy day, a gentleman walked into Lisa’s store wearing cleats, pants that were too small and a tarp wrapped around his upper body. He purchased a toy and a woman’s shirt. It was obvious he was purchasing these items for his family. As he was leaving, Lisa stepped into action and gave him the coat off her back. A customer saw this and bought him a hat and gloves and another bought him a hot meal. One act of kindness inspired others.

This week’s featured act of DG Kindness is from Charlotte and Darla from Store #08218! For more than 2 years, Charlotte and Darla have partnered with the Southern Alabama Regional Council on Aging (SARCOA) to provide seniors with groceries, toiletries, cleaning products and other necessary items. During the pandemic, many seniors were afraid to shop in person or did not have transportation to the local Dollar General store. Charlotte, Darla and the team at Store #08218 worked together to gather supplies to distribute to seniors in need.
