Our Friday, February 19th, our Ubuntu employee resource group hosted Whitley Grant, Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and Owner of The Melanated Space, PLLC to facilitate a conversation on, “Navigating Racial Trauma, Duality, and Double-Consciousness”. Through this presentation, we defined and processed racial trauma, duality, and double-consciousness.
Throughout the month of February for Black History Month, our Ubuntu employee resource group has provided Ellucian employees with opportunities to learn through speaker events, wellness activities, and mentorship. Today, they partnered with Women in Tech to host Dr. Camille Samuel and Dr. Eudine Barriteau in a session titled, “Global Perspective: Women in Technology and Education”. Culture will eat strategy every time, and we are proud of our culture at Ellucian.

Ellucian's Ubuntu, Black employee resource group, was born from the tragedies surrounding George Floyd and countless others. The chief focus of the group is on educating, driving awareness, and ultimately working toward eradicating the inequalities in our day-to-day lives. Together, we are striving to make incremental and measurable change—not for us, but for those whose voices are not being heard.
