Our employees are celebrating the holiday season across the EmblemHealth family of companies with some special activities! We kicked off the festivities with a virtual sing-a-long led by Greg Johnson, Chief Advisor for Family Caregiving. Then, we asked employees from EmblemHealth, AdvantageCare Physicians, and ConnectiCare to share photos of their homemade holiday desserts and family traditions.
Beola Fowler-Shearin, long-term employee shares what it’s like to work at EmblemHealth: “I’ve been working at EmblemHealth for over 21 years. I regularly attend our internal diversity and inclusion coffee office hours, where I can be my authentic self and make my voice heard. Attending these events has helped me feel more comfortable and confident in other meetings with my peers. I’m proud to work at a company that ensures team members have input on inclusion and belonging.” - Beola Fowler-Shearin, RN, Manager, Medical Review Unit
Did you know that the EmblemHealth family of companies includes pharmacy teams across each of our partner brands, AdvantageCare Physicians and ConnectiCare? For this year’s National Pharmacy Week, we wanted to recognize all our pharmacy team members and the extra support they are giving our members during these unprecedented times. From questions about medications, to prescription delivery, our staff is working hard to make sure you have everything you need to stay well.
Congratulations to the ConnectiCare employees celebrating milestone anniversaries this year! We're proud to have you and the CCI team in the EmblemHealth family of companies. We held a drive-by ceremony, hosted by ConnectiCare President Eric Galvin, to show our appreciation for employees from a cross-section of departments who work every day to meet the needs of our members and our communities.
The EmblemHealth family of companies believes that diversity and inclusion are fundamental to creating a strong workplace and community. Each year, PRISM—our employee resource group for members and friends of the LGBTQ+ community—honors National Coming Out Day as part of our commitment to creating a safer world for LGBTQ+ individuals to live truthfully and openly. This year we presented our Community Service Award to SAGE. The award recognizes organizations who provide exceptional support to the LGBTQ+ community. We also heard from enterprise employees, community leaders from local health care organizations, leaders from our employee resource groups, and the New York City Gay Men's Chorus a capella group Tonewall and its Youth Pride Chorus
The EmblemHealth family of companies is grateful to have such a wonderful customer service team. For this year's Customer Service Week, we wanted to show our team some extra appreciation to thank them for supporting each other and our customers during these challenging times. Senior Leaders hosted events for their team members throughout the week, including themed dress days, prize raffles, a virtual Mid-Autumn Mooncake Festival, and other celebrations throughout our EmblemHealth, AdvantageCare Physicians, and ConnectiCare offices.
At EmblemHealth, we believe everyone deserves care and support – and that includes ourselves. Here are a few pictures of how we practice self-care and find ways to safely do what we love in our new normal.
As part of our enterprise’s ongoing commitment to inclusive practices, we launched Diversity and Inclusion coffee office hours online where employees can share their thoughts on how to improve inclusion in our organization. We focused on building an environment where we can bring our whole selves to work. Thanks to everybody for sharing your ideas during these conversations.
Meet Franchesca Rodriguez, Customer Care Navigator at Neighborhood Care in East New York. At EmblemHealth, we promote cultural awareness and competency to foster a sense of belonging for all employees, and to improve member and patient experiences. We recently invited a cross section of employees to discuss the concept of "privilege" and how advantages affect societal relationships. To help facilitate our discussion, we watched "The Privilege Walk". Special thanks to the employee panelists who bravely shared their thoughts and experiences.
