ENERCON recently completed Extended Power Uprate (EPU) feasibility studies for two US nuclear facilities. ENERCON’s team of experts completed evaluations to identify the direct impact of the power uprate on approximately two dozen balance of plant (BOP) systems and programs. These evaluations reviewed previous power uprate documentation and utilized engineering judgement supplemented by previous uprate experiences to identify areas of limited operational margin. Each evaluation included recommended evaluations, models, and modifications needed to proceed with the uprate. Overall categorizations of mild, moderate, or significant were assigned to each system/program relative to the degree of impact and the likelihood changes needed to accommodate the planned power uprate. These assessments also included a rough order of magnitude (ROM) estimate for design, procurement, and construction costs. #ENERCON has been an industry leader in site licensing, engineering design/analysis and environmental services for the nuclear industry for over 40 years. ENERCON is consistently ranked by Engineering News Record as one of the top engineering design providers to the U.S. Nuclear Industry and is Engineer of Choice at over 90% of nuclear power plants across the US.
As a leading Engineering & Environmental services firm for over 41 years, #ENERCON provides professional engineering and environmental services to customers in the power generation, power delivery, and related markets, including nuclear, renewable and conventional power generation, electric transmission and distribution, distributed generation, battery energy storage, EV infrastructure, and data centers. NAYGN is a 501(c)(6) non-profit organization that provides opportunities for a young generation of nuclear enthusiasts to develop strong leadership and professional skills, create lifelong connections, engage and inform the public, and inspire today’s nuclear technology professionals to meet the challenges of the 21st century. Thank you Lindsy for your leadership and dedication in inspiring the next generation of talented engineers as we Engineer America's Energy Transition. You are truly an inspiration.
Congratulations to ENERCON’s Ft. Worth, Texas office for being recognized as a Corporate Adopter of the Year (Gold Standard) by the Tarrant Regional Water District. Last year, ENERCON adopted a section along the Trinity River and company employees volunteered in a trash cleanup effort in which they collected approximately 300 pieces of litter. Volunteers photographed and categorized the items, so the Tarrant Regional Water District can best prevent the problem at the source. For their efforts in the preservation and the beautification of Fort Worth’s environment via the Adopt-A-Trail program, our employees were awarded this prestigious honor and look forward to more clean up activities this year. ENERCON thanks all our wonderful employees who participated in making Texas a cleaner, healthier place.
ENERCON is excited to highlight another exceptional employee, Christine "Christy" Fletcher. We are honored to have Christy on the ENERCON Nuclear Team! Christy is highly active both inside and outside the office. Not only is she supporting the important work of our clients, she's also serving as President of NAYGN (North American Young Generation in Nuclear, Inc. (Continental)). Thank you Christy for your leadership and dedication in inspiring the next generation of talented engineers as we Engineer America's Energy Transition. You are truly an inspiration.
We're so proud of our employees! This past weekend Sean Dwyer, Kevin McCulloch, P.E., and Chris Bahr participated in the Alabama Power Company Service Organization (APSO) Power Run while MaKayla Chappell distributed water and electrolyte drink mixes to runners and attendees. The annual fundraiser in Birmingham was a tremendous success raising funds to support the Boys & Girls Clubs of America of Central Alabama. Thank you to everyone supporting a great cause!
