“2018 was a landmark year for Exact Sciences. We helped more than 930,000 people get screened for colorectal cancer, launched a partnership with Pfizer to help bring Cologuard to more patients, and scaled our operations to meet rising demand. Our team continues working hard to deliver life-changing innovations in early cancer detection. In 2019, we expect to open a new clinical lab, integrate Epic software into our operations, and advance our pipeline of liquid biopsy tests." – Exact Sciences chairman and CEO, Kevin Conroy. Earlier this month, American Family Insurance Championship distributed more than $2 million in charitable proceeds from the 2018 golf tournament. As a sponsor, Exact Sciences was honored to stand alongside representatives from the AmFam Championship and Steve Stricker American Family Insurance Foundation to recognize the community-building efforts of our friends at Falk Elementary School and Gilda’s Club of Madison.
We’re celebrating our top 10 ranking on Deloitte’s Technology Fast500 list of the fastest growing companies. Thank you to our incredible team for pushing us forward. We are excited to announce our recent acquisition of Biomatrica. Developers of the best-in-class LBgard® blood sample collection tubes, Biomatrica’s technology stabilizes circulating tumor DNA (a small component of DNA released from cancerous cells and tumors) to ensure quality preservation. We look forward to joining forces with this innovative company in our shared fight against cancer and elevating our mission to detect cancer at its earliest stages. http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQJV3
United Way does heroic things in our community every day. In recognition of their superhuman efforts, members of the Exact Sciences leadership team dressed up as superheroes to kick off our United Way campaign. 90% of employees participated in last year’s campaign and we’re committed to reaching new heights!

In addition to a state capitol and world-class research university, Madison has dining, arts, culture, and plenty of innovation. Thanks to the Wisconsin State Journal and Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce for putting together such a great snapshot of our vibrant business community: http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQrHx
As Exact Sciences expands, so does our impact on the community. Last year, we announced an exciting enhancement of our partnership with the Urban League of Greater Madison. We are working with this longtime partner to increase work training programs and create new jobs for underrepresented groups in the community's bioscience sector. Our hope is for this unique collaboration to serve as a model for how businesses and nonprofits can partner to strengthen communities.
During 2017, we increased the focus of our research and development resources on the development of a liver cancer surveillance test. The numbers supporting the need for a liver cancer test are clear. Each year in the United States there are more than 42,000 new liver cancer cases and 30,000 deaths. Like colon cancer, liver cancer is treatable if detected early and monitored. A more accurate surveillance test could enable early detection and treatment, leading to better outcomes.
Last year alone, Exact Sciences and our employees raised more $375,000 for the United Way of Dane County, with over 90% of employees participating. This year, an all-company giveback event on June 7 brought employees from across the country together on a single day to volunteer at various United Way on-site community projects, giving tangible meaning to the United Way of Dane County's #powerofmany.
