Express Employment International announces a leadership transition following the recent passing of co-founder and CEO Bill Stoller. In alignment with a long-standing succession plan developed by Stoller and fellow co-founder Bob Funk, Sr., the company has appointed Bob Funk, Jr., as Chief Executive Officer, adding to his current role as President. In this expanded capacity, Funk Jr. will also serve as Chairman of the Board. This transition reflects the vision set forth by Express’ co-founders to ensure long-term strength and continuity for the organization. The company remains steadfast in its mission to help people find meaningful work and connect businesses with reputable candidates, values that have guided Express since its inception. Since its founding in 1983, Express has grown into one of the largest privately held staffing companies in the world. As the franchisor of Express Employment Professionals, the company’s flagship brand is the fourth-largest staffing firm in the United States and 13th-largest globally, according to Staffing Industry Analysts, and operates in the U.S., Canada, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand. Express’ portfolio includes affiliated franchised brands Specialized Recruiting Group, Express Healthcare Staffing and Frontline Recruiting Group. The company reported sales of $3.7 billion in 2024, marking the fourth-best sales year in more than four decades of operations.
Express Employment Professionals has once again proven its excellence by clinching ClearlyRated’s Best of Staffing® Client and Talent Awards. Express proudly continues to hold the prestigious Diamond Award for client satisfaction, a testament to its consistent top-tier performance for more than five consecutive years. This recognition highlights the company’s unwavering commitment to providing industry-leading service to clients and associates. Award winners have proven to be staffing leaders in quality service based entirely on ratings provided by their clients and candidates. On average, clients of winning agencies are 50% more likely to be completely satisfied with the services provided, and placed candidates are 60% more likely to be completely satisfied compared to those working with non-winning agencies. “Winning this award marks over four decades of our commitment to connecting top-tier companies with exceptional talent,” said Bill Stoller, CEO of Express Employment International. “Our servant-leadership approach allows businesses to delegate their recruiting and HR needs to our experts, freeing them to invest in their communities globally. We are deeply honored by this recognition, which reinforces our mission and efforts.” The survey results revealed that 71.2% of Express clients and 69.9% of our associates rated Express a 9 or 10 out of 10, which is significantly higher than the industry standards (55% and 50%, respectively).
