🍀Fun St. Patrick’s Day fact: Detroit’s Corktown neighborhood was named to reflect the immigrants from County Cork, Ireland who settled there. The Ford family and Ford Motor Company have historic ties to County Cork as well: Henry Ford’s father emigrated to Michigan from County Cork in 1847, and the Ford Cork Plant was the first purpose-built Ford factory outside of North America and produced Fordson tractors.
