Full Sail University experienced much change from 2008 through 2011. With the inception of online degree programs, our student population changed considerably, in addition to the types of employees we hired. Last week, Full Sail University employees, students, and graduates united as a community to honor Breast Cancer Awareness Month with our Making Strides Pie Day, showing our support for those fighting breast cancer, remembering those we have lost, and standing with all whose lives have been affected. Pie Day, an event that has become a Full Sail tradition, involves a “pie in the face competition,” where Full Sail leaders line up to have whipped cream pies thrown at them. Every $20 raised for the American Cancer Society in that leader’s name translated to a pie to the face! Each leader was at home, joining via zoom, following safety guidelines, pied by a member in their home in honor of those who donated. With the incredible generosity of our Full Sail family, Making Strides Pie Day raised $15,774 for the American Cancer Society, bringing Full Sail’s Making Strides team to #3 out of 204 teams in Central Florida! These funds go towards breast cancer research, treatments, and support resources that will help cancer patients and their families for years to come.
