Audra Carson is head of Content Marketing and Media Platforms at General Mills. She leads a team responsible for creating and distributing digital food content that connects people to our brands. When asked how her role supports our company’s values, Carson said: "Every day, more than 1 million people look to our Betty Crocker, Pillsbury and Tablespoon websites, emails and social channels to discover, plan, shop for and make food for their families. Whether it’s giving them a step-by-step plan for orchestrating a high-stakes meal like Thanksgiving, inspiring them to try a new weeknight meal, or providing fun food ideas to connect with their kids in the kitchen, we work hard every day to help people make food their family will love." Carson also shares a passion for serving others through her work on General Mills’ Global Women’s Leadership Network. She said: "I believe that empowered employees – specifically women – can drive differential growth for our company."
We made a commitment in 2013 to sustainably source our top ten priority ingredients by 2020. Today, we sustainably source 67 percent of the dry-milled corn we purchase in the U.S. and are on track to meet our goal of 100 percent by 2020. We're working with farmers to reduce the environmental impact of agriculture. For corn, that means changing the way crops are grown and harvested in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and protect soil and water.
