As part of the "Genesis National Recognition Days" we are pleased to present our next Hero In Action - Kristin Stabolepszy, Director: Assistant Recreation at our Mifflin Center in PA (pictured here with Resident Shirley Dautrich. ?The entire staff at the Mifflin Center have been phenomenal during this pandemic. However, Kristi, the Assistant Director of Recreation, has been doing an exceptional job with my mom during this shutdown. She has been doing zoom visits with us and has made things much smoother. She has become like part of our family. She helps with asking and answering questions and comments. Since we have not been able to see Mom in person, it is a comfort to know she has such a caring person looking after her. She gives her water, or a sweater if it's cold, and helps her when she is tired or discouraged. And her unseen smile (under her mask), patience, kind words and laughter are her wonderful attributes that follow her all day long. She is a blessing. THANK YOU!? - Kathleen W. 44 #caredeeply #genesishealthcare #genesisheroes #heroinaction

As part of the "Genesis National Recognition Days" we are pleased to present our next Hero In Action! Jessica Gilman - RN Supervisor, St. Johnsbury Health & Rehabilitation Center, nominated by Resident - Marion Dane's family ?Jessica was my ?eyes? during her weekend shifts as my mom recovered from major surgery at the Rehab Center. Being in Charleston, SC only added to the stress of not being able to ?see? mom. My mind was at ease on the weekends as I communicated with Jessica about how mom was doing. She was able to answer several questions about mom?s recovery as well as dementia in general. Jessica used her personal phone in order for me to video chat with my mother. She also brought in special treats, quarantining them per protocol before bringing them into mom. The donuts and cookies helped maintain a sense of normalcy for mom in the midst of the chaos caused by this pandemic. Her professionalism and honest interest in mom?s recovery was heartwarming! Jessica is the lead of a group of LNAs and nurses who cared for mom on the weekends and were instrumental in keeping me informed.
