On April 12, several of our H2Mers attended the Planting Seeds of Community Dinner at the Jericho Terrace to celebrate 10 years of http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQf5V. This event raises over 90% of the funding for the non-profit organization’s programs. The mission of http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQf5z is to create communities of inclusion for children with disabilities as they enter kindergarten. The founder and Executive Director of http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQf5f is Julie Keffer, the spouse of H2M’s Mike Keffer, and sibling of H2M’s Bill Rospars and Rogers Rospars.
H2M’s Civil Engineering department has just initiated the design for a new Little League field and exercise facility at the Throggs Neck Houses in the Bronx. The project is for NYCHA and will provide recreational opportunities for residents and the community Little League.

H2M’s Vice President and Director of Wastewater Engineering, Chris Weiss, P.E., and Project Engineer, Timothy Nordberg, P.E., received the Diamond Award at the ACEC NY Engineering Excellence Awards Gala for our Town of Riverhead Water Resource Recovery Facility project! . New York did not have state standards in place for wastewater reuse, therefore H2M created the first municipal wastewater reuse facility in New York. H2M was responsible for the 15-year Riverhead Water Resource Recovery Facility upgrade from study through to design, construction, and start-up.
H2M’s Practice Leader/Manager of HVAC, Alexander Hochhausl, P.E., accepting the Platinum Award at the ACEC NY Engineering Excellence Awards Gala for our American Packaging ASRS project! H2M designed and commissioned a 6,300 position Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) for the American Packaging Corporation’s printing press cylinders. The facility and ASRS can be run 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
H2M’s Assistant Vice President and Senior Discipline Engineer, Matt Mohlin, P.E., received the Platinum Award at the ACEC NY Engineering Excellence Awards Gala for our Brookdale Avenue Drainage Improvements project! The drainage systems in the Halcyon Park area of the City of New Rochelle were modified and extended as roads were constructed and communities were developed. The original stream that was covered by a complex network of poorly assembled pipes, that resulted in flooding from even the most modest rainfall events. H2M completely replaced the pipe network with a single-box culvert with the required drainage capacity to convey the runoff from a 50-year storm event.
H2M’s Discipline Director of Architecture and Structural Engineering, Ron Lanner, R.A., LEED AP, received the Platinum Award at the ACEC NY Engineering Excellence Awards Gala for our Jones Beach West Bathhouse Renovation, 2nd Marine Floor Dining Room project! Over time, history and multiple generations have had a significant impact to the structure of the Jones Beach West Bathhouse. In 2014, $65 million was appropriated to the refurbishment of the park, and H2M restored the Marine Dining Hall on the second floor back to the original Art Deco period interiors.
