We had a great time the past week at State Fare Kitchen & Bar meeting new and existing interns! It was fun getting to know everyone and we are looking forward to the rest of the year with this class!
At HCSS, work alongside smart and friendly coworkers, in a unique campus environment where your ideas are welcome!
HCSS held another Ideas Cup where participants get to work on a passion project for 4 days straight and then present it to the executive team. This year, we had 16 teams, 9 total winners, and many great ideas.
This month we had the pleasure of hosting a drive-through graduation for Texas Women's University. It's the nation's largest university primarily for women, graduating more new health care professionals than any other university in Texas. We are long-time supporters of TWU in honor of the late Sophie Rydin, PhD. She was a TWU Alumni and occupational therapy faculty member. Every graduate received a copy of "Live Life Like Sophie Would," a book HCSS has produced to honor Mike Rydin's late wife and encourage the next generation to be lifelong learners, generous spirits, hard workers, and active people. Bringing the students to the HCSS campus to celebrate their future success seemed a fitting way to honor Sophie's legacy.

Our employees are making great use of our state of the art full sized soccer on our campus. At HCSS, we promote physical, mental and emotional wellness for all our employees. Watch a clip of our employees playing soccer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0qIcShl0ch0
For the 14th year in a row, HCSS was recognized as one of the top places to work in Texas! Providing a great life for employees is part of our mission statement, and we don’t take it lightly. Therefore, we built an award-winning workplace that respects work-life balance, physical and mental well being, and a family atmosphere, no matter how big we continue to grow.
HCSS runners took on the epic journey of running 200 miles in one weekend, following the trail of Texas Independence. From Gonzales to Brenham, the HCSS running team took turns running a range of 4-7 miles three different times, even through nightfall!
In honor of Sophie Rydin, HCSS hosted a drive-thru graduation for Texas Woman's University. Congratulations to all the graduates!
In honor of Sophie Rydin, HCSS and the George Foundation gifts $2 million to the University of Houston College of Technology to support new infrastructure and support students in achieving their full academic potential.
