Underwriting interns Eric Benson and Jakob Krull visited the Financial Security Bank in Albertville, Minnesota with their colleagues from the Financial Services team. Eric and Jakob spent a few weeks with the FS team learning about their industry, and to get some field experience, they received a tour of the facility from President Robert Bauman. #specialtyinsurance #whyonebeacon

OneBeacon Inland Marine recently participated in and sponsored the IMA Foundation's Kansas City Pickleball event. This year, the event raised $25,000, with proceeds going to support Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Kansas City. Inland Marine's Lucas Hockenberry and Molly Miller competed in the tournament, finishing 3-3. We are proud to have participated in the event and especially to contribute to a worthy cause by being the Pickle Juice Sponsor!

Last month, OneBeacon Government Risks’ Sarah Schmitz spent the day with her 4th grade daughter’s Girl Scout Troop at their First Responder Appreciation event for the Maple Plain, MN first responders. Supported by our Charitable Trust, items were collected for care packages to provide to their local police force, firefighters, EMTs, etc. The packages included gift cards to local restaurants, coffee, hand sanitizer, lip balm, hand warmers, snacks and homemade cards created by the Scouts. Not only did the troops collect enough for their local fighters, but they were also able to contribute to the City of Orono Police Department. In addition to the assembling and delivering of packages, the first responders also provided first aid training to the troop! A thank you to all our emergency responders and great work!
Our International Marine Underwriters team recently held a North American underwriting meeting in Denver, Colorado. All North American commercial marine underwriters (from the U.S. and Canada) attended. The group heard updates on the "state of the market," discussed strategy and goals and enjoyed an "Escape the Room" team building event. Unfortunately, there was no escape for any of the teams, but lots of fun had by all!
