We’ve been awarded a $1.1 billion EPCM contract by ADNOC Gas for the optimisation and expansion of its Asab and Buhasa facilities. This project is part of the wider $5 billion Rich Gas Development project. Our scope includes debottlenecking and enhancing existing infrastructure to increase processing capacity and improve operational efficiency, supporting ADNOC’s goal to unlock new gas reservoirs, strengthen liquid gas exports, and enhance gas self-sufficiency in the UAE. This award strengthens Kent’s position as a leading EPCM contractor in the region and builds on a track record of delivering complex gas developments across the Middle East.
As the UK moves closer to its Net Zero targets, the government’s latest working paper on community benefits and shared ownership signals a major shift in how low-carbon energy infrastructure is delivered. The message is clear: to accelerate the energy transition, local communities must be genuine partners, not just passive stakeholders. In this article, Declan Franklin unpacks what the proposed framework means for developers. From financial modelling to early-stage engagement, he explores how embedding community benefit schemes can turn opposition into support, and why doing so isn’t just the right thing, but a strategic imperative. At Kent, we’ve long recognised that community partnership is critical to delivering sustainable energy infrastructure. Our Environmental and Low Carbon teams work across the lifecycle of projects to ensure that social value, local engagement, and environmental responsibility aren’t just added extras, they’re built in from the start. Read Declan's insights on our website.
Kent has been selected to deliver FEED for Syzygy Plasmonics’ NovaSAF™ , the world’s first electrified biogas-to-SAF plant. Syzygy Plasmonics’ NovaSAF™ 1 project in Uruguay will convert biomethane and CO₂ from agricultural waste into over 350,000 gallons of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) annually , using renewable electricity and without the need for pipelines or water-intensive processes. Our scope includes front-end engineering design as well as supporting early-stage equipment sourcing and permitting, helping to bring this groundbreaking project one step closer to reality. This milestone builds on Kent’s global experience in decarbonisation and sustainable fuels, and supports a new model for clean, cost-effective aviation fuel production at scale.
A Safety Case isn’t just paperwork. It’s a powerful decision-making tool when done right. In his latest article, David Graham, shares what separates a tick-box Safety Case from one that transforms a project. From defining Safety Critical Elements to shaping engineering choices and boosting team alignment, a well-constructed Safety Case does more than satisfy regulators. It strengthens your safety culture and operational resilience for years to come. 👉 Are you building your Safety Case to comply or to lead? Read the full case on our website.
Project delivery is often measured in milestones and metrics. But what about the force that holds everything together behind the scenes? In this powerful piece, Rauri McClellan reframes how we think about Project Management Consultancy, not as a layer of oversight, but as a strategic enabler, a steward of outcomes, and a guardian of the owner’s vision. From gate reviews to commissioning, PMC drives alignment, anticipates divergence, and builds the connective tissue between ambition and achievement.
What does it take to deliver 1 million work hours with zero Lost Time Injuries, and hit critical construction milestones along the way? Daily focus. Strong leadership. And a culture where safety is at the heart. - That’s Kent. On Ampol’s Future Fuels Desulphurisation Project, that mindset has powered both a remarkable safety record and the successful installation of all preassembled pipe racks, plus the delivery of major equipment, including columns 18C6 and 18C4. With scope spanning from FEED and long-lead item management through to providing full self-perform EPC execution services, our teams around the world are helping shape a project that’s essential to Australia’s move toward ultra-low sulphur fuels by 2025. To everyone involved: thank you for keeping safety at the core of progress.
At the Australian Energy Producers Conference, key themes shaping the future of the sector are front and centre: scalable decarbonisation, delivery certainty, and the role of emerging technologies in accelerating the transition. Kent is actively contributing to these conversations, with our teams engaging across hydrogen, CCS, digital project execution, and more. Our Senior Environment & Sustainability Engineer, Claudia Buenhombre, also presented on lifecycle emissions in low-carbon hydrogen production, highlighting the value of data-led design in building credible pathways to net-zero. We're looking forward to continuing these discussions throughout the week - visit us at stand No. 36 or connect with our team to learn more about how we’re helping deliver the next generation of energy projects.
We’re proud to announce that NesmaKent, our joint venture with Nesma & Partners, has signed a landmark contract with Aramco to deliver the first Engineering and Construction Management Services Contract (PMC) under the National EPC Champion Initiative. This significant project marks the start of a transformative journey to enhance South Ghawar’s water handling facilities, a critical component in Aramco’s strategy to meet its Maximum Sustainable Capacity (MSC) targets. By integrating advanced digital execution technologies, fostering national workforce development, and championing sustainability, NesmaKent is redefining how EPCM services are delivered in the Kingdom and setting new benchmarks for operational excellence. #theenergywithin
Six years. Five scopes. One incredible outcome. This year, Kent reached a defining milestone in Western Kazakhstan, completing one of the energy industry’s most ambitious and complex commissioning programmes. From 2019 to 2025, our team delivered full commissioning and start-up services across five key scopes, culminating in First Oil in January 2025. With more than 26 years of experience in Kazakhstan, our local knowledge shaped every stage of the journey. It guided how we worked, how we collaborated, and how we delivered - safely, reliably, and with purpose. A snapshot of what we achieved: ✅ 24.5 million work hours with zero Lost Time Incidents ✅ Over 550,000 safe work hours per month at peak ✅ 96% national workforce participation This campaign reflects the best of Kent, global expertise, local partnership, and a culture built on care, performance, and respect. To everyone involved: thank you. This is legacy work. And we’re proud to have delivered it, together.
