Today, we are raising a toast to each and every one of us at Kent because we won the People and Culture Award at the Scottish Renewables’ Net-Zero Energy Transition Awards. 🏆 It is always exciting to show the world that what we're building here at Kent is special. Doing business in the most positive and responsible way for people, the planet, and our principles is our driving force, and our team is in the driving seat. Cheers to our incredible team 🥂
Are you giving your team time to innovate? It can be hard to free up time for innovation, especially when time is a precious commodity—that is usually in short supply. But it is important for your business & your people, and you know it. So how can time be made for both things? Learn from our Consultancy Innovation Lead, Michele Hutchison, who told AberdeenBizNews all you've got to know about innovation.
Our biggest and brightest are on the move again. This time they’ll be in Singapore at Gastech 2023, sharing our best work in the #EnergyTransition space.
We've been awarded a Telecoms Systems Integrator Contract for Chevron Jansz-Io Compression Project. For over 15 years, we've been delivering various telecoms contracts for Chevron Australia. Building on this foundation, this time, we'll provide detailed engineering, procurement, integration and testing of the telecoms infrastructure/systems package for the Field Control Station (FCS) for the Jansz-Io Compression (JIC) Project commissioned by DSME.
Do you know what (technical) women want? 🤔 - If you don't, worry no more Karen Blanc, our VP of Inclusion & Belonging and People Development, curated a list of a few things women in engineering might be looking for in the workplace.
"Well, they look like they're doing a lot in D&I….. But I work there, and I don't feel it." From analysing representation gaps to psychologically safe listening sessions, Karen Blanc, our VP of Inclusion & Belonging and People Development, reflects on some of those worthy actions that will create truly inclusive workplaces we all want to belong to.
🌊⚠️ The risk of structural collapse of offshore jacket structures due to severe weather events is a critical and often costly issue. Severe Weather Action Plans (SWAP) involve accurately establishing de-staffing thresholds based on forecast wave heights, enabling the safe evacuation of personnel from offshore structures prior to extreme weather events. However, defining these thresholds and translating analysis results into actionable procedures is complex. At Kent, we assist decision-makers with interpreting the analysis results that inform the SWAP. Read and learn from Bryan Horton, PhD's article, where he discusses the importance of Severe Weather Action Plans (SWAP) to protect people and the environment.
"My advice is to be kind to yourself, reassess your priorities occasionally, and put in the effort to make your goals possible." Paula Fitzpatrick, VP of Projects, USA, joined H2TechOnline for a chat about her engineering journey, the hurdles she's tackled, and how she's come out on top. Paula's all about making way for others and pushing for more support for women in their careers. To celebrate International Women in Engineering Day, check out what else Paula had to say about women in engineering.
We've been awarded the FEED contract for ExxonMobil's large-scale plastic waste advanced recycling programme.♻️ Building upon our successful design for the pilot unit in Baytown, Texas, we have now been entrusted to provide FEED services for new units across a potential seven additional sites. Kent was chosen as the Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management services provider for the pilot unit in Baytown, Texas. This facility now stands as one of the largest advanced recycling centres in North America and is already in operation.
We were awarded a three-year multi-site master services agreement with TotalEnergies. Our engineering scope spans from feasibility studies to pre-FEED, FEED, and detailed engineering to the Port Arthur Platform, La Porte Plant in Texas, the Carville Plant in Louisiana – one of the world's largest polystyrene facilities, and Bayport Polymers LLC's Ethane Cracker in Texas.
