Lucid Motors celebrated Black History Month by hosting an employee webinar on Black culture and equity featuring Chef Tiffany Carter, owner of Boug Cali (restaurant located in the nation’s first women-led marketplace) and co-founder of SF Black Wallstreet. We, as a company, also put equity into practice by using our purchasing power to cater her California-creole fusion food at our HQ in Newark, CA.
On February 1, Lucid celebrated the Lunar New Year by hosting a traditional Chinese Lion Dance by our friends at the Buk Sing Choy Lay Fut Kung Fu Academy of Fremont. During this dance, the lion was fed lettuce by CFO Sherry House, Senior Director of Sales Doreen Allen and Logistics Program Coordinator Sunny Tran. Sunny was also dressed in a Chinese cheongsam which is worn for special occasions such as Lunar New Year. Employees who attended the performance were able to interact with lions and were treated to a candy bar with candies from the Chinese, Vietnamese and Korean cultures. Candy is traditionally consumed during this holiday to equate to a “sweet life.”
