In recognition of Diwali – an Indian celebration of the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, good over evil and hope over despair – Macy's Technology recently sponsored Johns Creek's 2022 Diwali Festival. At the event, members of the Johns Creek community and Macy’s Technology colleagues kicked off the start of Diwali while enjoying live music, food, and fireworks. This festival was the first city and community-organized Diwali event in the state of Georgia. In addition to sponsoring the city’s Diwali festival, Johns Creek colleagues also hosted their annual on-site Diwali celebration at the corporate office. The celebration started with a traditional ceremony of lighting the Diya lamp by our CIO Laura Miller followed by live music and singing, dance performances, fashion show on the theme of Indian festivals, saree draping competition, and an authentic 3-course Indian meal. Between photo booths, game stations, henna counters, shopping stalls, and breathtaking rangoli decorations, all 300 colleagues transformed Macy’s Tech into India for a few hours.
