NGA co-hosted the second “Geography 2050: DC-The Discussion Continues” symposium with the American Geographical Society July 27 in Springfield, Virginia. The event served as a learning opportunity for geography professionals and interested attendees to learn more about current trends in geography and NGA’s influence in the geography space. NGA Director Vice Adm. Frank Whitworth kicked off the event with opening remarks.

NGA’s Moonshot Labs hosted the Intelligence Community Private Sector Engagement Innovation Summit last month to share best practices on how the government can better collaborate with the private sector to find solutions to national security challenges. Co-hosted by NGA and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, participants included representatives from the IC agencies, along with Saint Louis University, Capital Innovators and the St. Louis T-REX Innovation Center. Earlier this month, NGA welcomed Vice Adm. Frank D. Whitworth as the eighth director of NGA during a ceremony presided over by Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines, Office of the Director of National Intelligence, and Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence & Security Ronald S. Moultrie, Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence & Security at NGA headquarters. Whitworth, who replaces Vice Adm. Robert Sharp, previously served as the director for intelligence on The Joint Staff in the Pentagon. “Our nation’s leaders and our uniformed service members rely on NGA to defend this nation, protect our interests abroad, and defeat our adversaries,” said Whitworth. “In lockstep with our global GEOINT partners, we will continue to deliver ‘GEOINT advantage’ to every echelon – from strategic decision-makers to our forces at the tactical edge.” Read the official press release here 👉 https://lnkd.in/emwuYyZi #ShowTheWay #leaders #nationalsecurity #intelligencecommunity
