Interested in starting your Nordstrom career? Join our team this holiday season and visit a Nordstrom or Nordstrom Rack store near you this Friday, November 3, 11am-5pm for our hiring events! We caught up with Inventory Control Manager Clowers Helena about her career path after joining us seasonally during the holidays. “I started working at Nordstrom during the holiday season in 2013. There was a great sense of community with the people I was hired with because we were learning and growing together. Even though I originally started in support, I was able to learn different areas of the business from selling in an apparel department, personal styling and customer service. I’m currently an inventory control and fulfillment manager at Nordstrom. I chose to stay because there was an opportunity to grow with the company. What makes working at Nordstrom special? Nordstrom has always been a place where you're able to come as you are. I think the company's ability to always learn and grow from the people that work there and the communities around them is what makes it such a great place.”
Make it the best holiday! Oakbrook Assistant Department Manager Rene Vilchis shares why he began his journey seasonally at Nordstrom last holiday and how company culture helped flourish his career. “My journey at Nordstrom started with a search for a company that was structured to support its employees. I was lucky to have had great leadership in my first role that knew how to utilize peoples’ strengths while developing their soft skills. I decided to assume more responsibility because of the confidence my manager had in me. I would describe the culture as energetic and inclusive—everyone supports one another. It feels good to be part of a team of great listeners who support your career growth. You walk into work knowing that everyday you’re going to learn something new with a supportive team. My advice to new hires? Ask questions! Everyone I have ever worked with at Nordstrom is ready to help and teach you.” Visit a Nordstrom or Nordstrom Rack store near you this Friday, October 27, 11am-5pm for our hiring events!
