The Peabody Team at Christopher Columbus Plaza in Boston's North End are wearing "Breathe" sweatshirts today in support of Karen's grandson, Wylliam, who has had an incredibly difficult first nine months in the world. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Wylliam and his entire family. The proceeds raised from Wylliam’s shirts will be donated to the non-profit: Operation Airway. Operation Airway is a global surgery program to care for children in developing countries who cannot breathe or speak due to airway complications. The program also teaches local healthcare providers how to develop their own sustainable airway surgical programs, and conducts research to improve and innovate how this care is provided around the world. If you would like to purchase a shirt in support of Wylliam and Operation Airway, please visit : https://www.bonfire.com/store/wylliam/ #wylliamfrancisstrong #operationairway

The residents at Valley Brook Village in Lyons, NJ have been staying very busy throughout October! With the help of the Somerset Hills YMCA Togetherhood Committee, Valley Brook Village Resident Services coordinated and hosted a “Snack and Paint” event for residents. The event offered a trained artist to lead residents through a painting of an autumnal scene with watercolors, while enjoying fresh seasonal baked goods, treats and hot apple cider! The Valley Brook Village team also arranged an outing for 12 residents to the Bronx Zoo for a day of admiring and learning about wildlife from all around the world. Valley Brook Village then celebrated the Navy's birthday with a community outing to the Navy Lakehurst Historical Society Museum. The museum is located in the Manchester, NJ township, where the famous Hindenburg crash occurred on May 6, 1937. Six residents were able to visit the crash location and learn about the Navy's use of rigid air ships throughout its history, along with a guided tour of the Naval Base hangars that housed our military blimps and other historical items.
