We are delighted to announce that Tiffany Gunawan, a resident of Market Mills Apartments in Lowell, MA was named a national winner in this year’s NAHMA - National Affordable Housing Management Association Annual AHMA Drug-Free Kids poster and art contest. Jean Mistretta, a resident of Linwood Mill Apartments in Whitinsville, MA was also recognized with a regional honorable mention. “We are thrilled that Tiffany and Jean were recognized at the national level for their artistic submissions, and can’t wait to see Tiffany’s artwork in the NAHMA calendar,” said Kate Swope, director of resident services for the Peabody Companies. “The NAHMA poster contest is a wonderful annual event that lets our residents share a different side of themselves with the community, and we are grateful to participate!”

We are pleased to announce that Marice Leahy has been promoted to Assistant Controller. In her new role, Marice, who previously held the title of Accounting Manager, is responsible for the preparation of financial statements and knowledge of each asset within the Peabody Companies’ extensive portfolio. Working closely with the controller, she ensures oversight on all issues that impact the accounting/financial operations of the company. She is “a boomerang” of the Peabody Companies, having joined in 2000 as a property accountant – a post she held for five years – and returning in 2012 as a property accountant before being promoted to senior accountant and then accounting manager in 2016. “We’re delighted to announce Marice’s promotion to assistant controller,” said Melissa Fish-Crane, principal and COO of the Peabody Companies. “Her excellent supervisory skills, coupled with strong priority setting and communication abilities are perfectly suited to this vital role within our organization.” Congratulations, Marice! #wearepeabody #weputthehomeinhousing #leadership

We are so excited to finally welcome residents into the newly renovated The Machon in Swampscott, MA. Originally built in the 1920’s, The Machon Elementary School, has been transformed into 38 one bedroom apartment homes. The original architectural detail has been preserved as well as a new addition created. Each apartment home has been designed with seniors in mind, and The Machon offers living like no other with plentiful community amenities and programming that will provide residents with opportunities to lead active lifestyles. Each new resident received a Welcome Bag upon move in. And an original chalkboard from the former school was decorated with resident's names. We are pleased to announce that Sarah Marples has been promoted to Controller. In this new role, Sarah, who previously held the title of assistant controller, is responsible for the direct oversight of both the financial and reporting obligations of each of the Peabody Companies’ divisions. Her focus also centers on regular review and monitoring of the finance and accounting department’s practices, working to assure maximum operational efficiency and productivity, while implementing improvement strategies, as needed. Sarah joined the Peabody Companies as a property accountant in 2011 and in 2014 was named an accounting manager, followed by a promotion to assistant controller in June of 2016. “We’re delighted to announce Sarah’s promotion to controller,” said Melissa Fish-Crane, principal and COO of the Peabody Companies. “Her broad analytical and practical decision skills in the areas of accounting, general business practice and corporate development are outstanding, making her the ideal individual to fill this critical role within our organization.” Congrats, Sarah! #wearepeabody
