We are proud to share that Coolidge at Sudbury II located in Sudbury, MA, a 55+ community offering affordable rental units for seniors and older adults, is now accepting lottery applications. The Coolidge at Sudbury has been developed by B’nai B’rith Housing, a nonprofit developer whose mission is to ease the housing crisis in the greater Boston area. Peabody Properties is overseeing the leasing process of the community.
Merrimack Valley Apartments in Methuen, MA recently closed on a $7.9 million refinancing loan with MassHousing to preserve affordability for lower-income senior citizens and extend affordability at the community for at least 23 years. Consisting of 60 age-restricted, one-bedroom apartments, contained in six two-story buildings constructed in 1983, this Peabody Properties managed community is subsidized by a federal Section 8 Housing Assistance Payment contract, which will be extended for 20 years when the current contract expires in three years.

During this time of the Coronavirus pandemic, things can often seem overwhelming, but there are strategies to help reduce stress. Keeping a regular routine is important to mental health, as is limiting exposure to news media – 24/7 information about COVID-19 will only heighten fears. Try to replace negative thoughts with positive ones; think about a few aspects of your life that are going well to maintain a sense of gratitude and hope. The deadline for the NAHMA - National Affordable Housing Management Association Educational Foundation scholarship application is fast approaching on 5/15. Do not miss your chance to be selected for a scholarship to help defray the costs of continuing your education! The scholarships are awarded to worthy student residents wanting to continue their academic careers in order to enhance their lives, increase their job opportunities and/or improve their children’s futures. This year will be the 14th consecutive year that the Foundation has made scholarships available. Over the life of the program, more than $1,685,000 has been awarded to NAHMA scholars.
