Earlier this week we asked a couple team members to share how their families celebrate Lunar New Year 🧧. Check out what Sam Jeet, Pluralsight Software Engineer, had to say ⬇️ I’m Sam, my family is from the Philippines (ethnically we're Filipino-Chinese) so some of our traditions differ from traditional Chinese and Singaporean celebrations. I’m taking over this post to share a bit about how my family celebrates the Lunar Year. 🎉 For us, it's very family oriented, so we're usually all together. 🥘🧧 We eat a lot of food and pass out red envelopes of money (angpao). To this day I still get angpao from family relatives and I hope it never ends. 🥘🧧 If we happen to be the Philippines we try to visit Binondo, the oldest Chinatown in the world, and enjoy all the celebrations there! Since moving to Utah I haven't been able to spend Lunar New Year with my family, but I invite some friends to celebrate by wearing red, going out to eat, and passing out angpao. Here's a photo of me at Lunar New Year last year. I ordered too much but it was so delicious. Happy Lunar Year to all!
