What does it take to become an award winning, self-fulfilling, “Powerhouse” of a technology department? It all starts with building a great culture and surrounding it with even better people. People that not only care about the success of the business, but also care about the success and happiness of their peers around them. Our COO Tim Wenhold shed some light on the secret behind our award winning business technology department and why taking the time to build an impactful culture with all the right faces truly matters.
Here at Power, we can proudly say that we take employee celebration and appreciation to the next level and throw some of the best and most memorable events in the world. Quest by Power is our annual 3-day all inclusive music festival, hosted in Cancun, Mexico, that recognizes and rewards our community for another year of hard work. Our only regret is that we can’t go back and relive it all again. With that in mind we have an amazing recap video that can help keep Quest fresh in our minds until next year. We are proud to announce that Power has earned a spot on Great Place To Work®’s 2023 Best Workplaces for Parents List! A crucial part of creating a healthy work environment is ensuring that employees can provide for their families and loved ones - and that goes far beyond just a paycheck. Because of this, we believe it is important that our Power community feels supported by the organization in all aspects of their life.
Power is proud to announce that we have earned the #3 spot in the midsize category on Computerworld’s 2024 Best Places to Work in IT list. This marks our highest ranking to date and fourth time on the industry-leading list. Power’s Business Technology team lives within a culture of learning that fosters a different type of employee, one that we call a “Creator.” As our Chief Operating Officer / Partner Timothy G. Wenhold says, the team is provided: “the freedom to create, and the only limitation is their aptitude to grow.” There’s never been a better time to join us on our journey. If you’re interested in taking your tech career to the next level and joining our Creator-Verse, check our jobs listings on Glassdoor / Indeed!
The Power Veterans Initiative (PVI) has transformed our business and the lives of those within our community - and that impact is being felt far outside our walls. Recently we’ve earned four new awards focused on veterans, including U.S. Veterans Magazine’s 2023 Best of the Best Military Friendly Companies and the Military Times Best for Vets Employer award, while also being recognized as a 2024 Military Friendly Employer and a 2024 Military Friendly Spouse Employer. These awards recognize companies that have wholeheartedly invested in comprehensive initiatives that bring about positive, life-changing impacts for veterans and military spouses and are some of the most notable designations in the veteran employment space. We couldn’t be more proud of the progress PVI has made over these past few years and we are happy to see that the strides we’re making internally are felt outside our walls. This year our Cultural Diversity and Inclusion Initiative brought their passion to the streets of Chicago for our annual CD&I Summit. During the Summit, Power teamed up with Chicago Cares, a local non-profit that brings people power to the work of change - together we created the largest volunteer effort in Power’s 30-year history! A truly great place to work isn’t just created overnight, it takes vision from leadership along with hard and intentional work from every part of the organization. That’s why we’re so proud to see Power Co-CEOs Asher Raphael and Corey Schiller recognized on the Philadelphia Business Journal’s 2023 Most Admired CEOs list!
