We are proud to announce that Power has been recognized by U.S. Veterans Magazine on their 2023 Best of the Best Veteran-Friendly Companies List! This award is a testament to the hard work we’ve put into building a best-in-class workplace for veterans and their families. However, we are far from done - we are committed to building upon our Veterans Program so that we can continue to be one of the best workplaces for Veterans looking to find their new home!
Power is in the business of service. This means you can expect us to always standby and support our customers and employees. However, we know that serving shouldn’t only be limited to these two groups. Serving the community around us is at the core of Power’s being. This year we joined forces with Chicago Cares to elevate our impact on a local community - as a result we had our biggest volunteer event in Power history. With over 300 Power employees we contributed more than 600 hours to 14 different non-profits, packed and distributed 850 grocery bags for unhoused individuals, planted 600 tulips across Chicago, and much more. Read more here about how we left our impact on Chicago!
Transitioning back into in-person workdays has been a struggle for many businesses across many industries. Power believes the best way to approach this situation is by listening. We’ve since made great strides to relieve some pain points from in-person work. Power introduced new ways to support their employees such as a childcare benefit that relieves a variety of different types of childcare-related expenses every month. In addition, we’ve made changes to our corporate dress code - showing up in a suit and tie every day is now a thing of the past! We know this doesn’t go far enough, but Power is still listening and continues to improve its in-person workplace environment every year.
September is National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month - and in addition to Power employee donations to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, we try to raise awareness for the cause in a variety of other ways too, such as kickball games, lemonade stands, and running or biking miles for fundraising. Check out some local coverage from one of our recent kickball games hosted by our Atlanta office!
We are proud to announce that Power has been named #1 on the 2023 Fortune Best Workplaces in Construction List! Power has always strived to completely redefine what it means to work in construction. Our focus on innovation and diversity allows us to offer a unique workplace experience - one that provides professional development, and personal fulfillment. This award helps recognize our people-first mentality and commitment to becoming the best workplace in the world.
Each September, Power Home Remodeling hosts an internal “Alex’s Month” initiative to support Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation and honor National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Employees across the country rally together to raise awareness and donations to support of ALSF “heroes" and their families impacted by childhood cancer through payroll contributions, kickball tournaments, lemonade stands, and other community events. And on the first day of September this year, employees raised a record-breaking $1.3 million for the cause! The reason why? Power is built on people who care.
