When faced with a potential life-changing situation, a pregnant woman and her husband found confidence in Dr. Claudeen Whitfield, a ROSE award recipient. When the couple was faced with a tough prognosis in their pregnancy, Dr. Whitfield was able to educate them and showed extreme compassion and put the couple at ease. Her nominator said it was so comforting to know that she was so invested in our daughter’s medical care, even at another facility. Dr. Whitfield is the perfect combination of professionalism and compassion. Thank you for your dedication to the youngest of ProMedica patients!
As a leader in the area, the ProMedica Nurse Residency Program sets newly graduated nurses up for a career full of opportunity and success. The way our health care professionals go above and beyond can leave a lasting impact. A patient needed an MRI but was having trouble finding a machine to accommodate him. Tabitha, a speech therapist, got connected with the patient and made numerous calls and persevered until she was able to get the patient an appointment. She is a ROSE award winner and her nominator said this is not uncommon of Tabitha as she will always make sure to do the right thing and is an invaluable asset to the team
Congratulations to Cory Sears, RN, Allie Cherfan, DO, Mackenzie Mitchey, and Christen Ruiz for recently receiving the Champions of Philanthropy Award. This award is given to employees from the ProMedica Foundation Grateful Patient & Family Philanthropy Program who go above and beyond in patient care.
In our health care careers, we advocate for our patient’s and their best health. Jordan, a social worker in our Cystic Fibrosis Clinic, advocated for a patient whose insurance did not cover a life-altering medication. Jordan submitted appeals and escalated the situation to the pharmaceutical company before elevating the situation to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s COMPASS program for patient advocacy. She never gave up on helping this patient receive medication. Jordan received the ROSE award and her nominator said they could not imagine the center functioning without Jordan.
