Riot Games St. Louis (STL) office hosted a TEALS training session for the 2018-19 school year. TEALS is an organization that aims to give every student the opportunity to study computer science (CS) in high school. By training tech professionals to teach computer science at local schools in their community, the goal is to prepare students of today for the jobs of tomorrow, including an estimated 1.4 million CS-related jobs by 2020. STL engineer Kurt Glastetter completed his TEALS volunteer training certification and is pairing up with an Advanced Placement (AP) Computer Science teacher at Hawthorn Leadership School for Girls—first all-girls public school in Missouri—to teach Snap! (visual block-based programming language and environment), Python, and more. We are looking forward to collaborating with TEALS to bring more STEM education to the STL community in the future.
