Fresta Valley Robotics Club joined us in our Centreville, VA, office last week to celebrate their successful season! Co-mentored by Timothy Waltz, Vice President, Sensors & Systems, this team won all local and regional championships in the FIRST robotics league and competed well in the world championships in Texas. Throughout the season, Riverside Research has been proud to sponsor the team and post regular updates about their ongoing successes and championship advancements! Fresta Valley Robotics Club presented Riverside Research with an honorary plaque commemorating the team, which Chief Human Resources Officer Madelyne D'Angelo, proudly accepted. The club was sure to bring Low Rider to the visit – the robot they programmed and guided to success through the season. 🤖 Riverside Research is extremely proud of the team’s success, which includes three Autonomous awards for programming Low Rider to operate independently. 🏆 To learn more about our #STEMEducation initiatives, check out our website: https://bit.ly/3UQYQID #RiversideResearchGivesBack #STEM #Robotics #TeachRobotics

We have great news from Fresta Valley Robotics Club (Team 1731) following the First Chesapeake District Robotics Competition last the weekend: the team placed first with their sturdy and programmable and memorable robot, Low Rider! 🏆 The two-day competition took place at Meridian High School in Falls Church, VA. According to one of the team mentors, Timothy Waltz, Vice President, Sensors and Systems at Riverside Research, Team 1731 made some improvements to their robot following the last competition, including mechanical reliability enhancements, software improvements, and autonomous function. (The robot must perform the first 15 seconds of the competition without human intervention.) The team also picked up its second Autonomous Award for this feature. 🤖 Pictured: the team with the champion banner and David Samy, the student who programmed the robot’s autonomous routine. Riverside Research knows the future of STEM is bright, and we are proud to sponsor this team. Congratulations, Fresta Valley Robotics Club!
