In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, which takes place September 15th through October 15th, we’re celebrating some of our Hispanic employees at all levels who have made significant contributions here at SSOE. This week, we’re highlighting David Rizo, Mechanical Design Department Manager in SSOE’s Energy, Glass, Chemical, and Manufacturing business unit. With SSOE since 2016, David assigns and coordinates projects to a team of over 20 designers while also interfacing with clients with a focus on machine design, plant layout, and furnace design. He also serves on SSOE’s Department Manager Strategy Group where he offers his nearly 20 years of expertise. #HispanicHeritageMonth

This week we’re highlighting Erick Kuri, our Mexico Operations Director who is also a Senior Associate and Shareholder. With nearly two decades of experience as a manager and engineer, Erick has extensive project knowledge of automotive, manufacturing, and distribution facilities in dozens of cities throughout the Mexican industrial corridor. He has been instrumental to our significant growth in Mexico, which includes a growing portfolio of in-country work and better integration of our teams across borders. #HispanicHeritageMonth
Over five years ago, SSOE designed the 6,000 SF space known as the ProMedica Innovations Incubator Suite on the Wildwood Medical Center campus in Toledo. With a focus that goes beyond just medical products, ProMedica Innovations—a division of ProMedica Health System—serves as a business incubator that nurtures startups. Since then, ProMedica Innovations has created over 70 jobs and started four new companies. Most recently, ProMedica Innovations recently helped Tim Tressel, local entrepreneur and founder of Fertile Ground Tools, get his tool caddy product to market—a story featured in this WTVG 13abc article.

Claudia—who holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey in Mexico— joined SSOE over four years ago. In addition to her architectural background, Claudia also has mechanical design experience. Her adept knowledge of platforms like Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360, and Lumion provides invaluable support to our team. #HispanicHeritageMonth
