Throughout May, Santander US recognizes and honors the many contributions that our Asian American and Pacific Islander community make. Our AAPI family encompasses a wide variety of countries of origin, languages, cultures, and traditions. Including the AAPI voice and influence is instrumental in building sustainable business performance. At Santander US, we celebrate our differences and encourage all colleagues to draw upon their cultural and personal experiences to enhance our work, our culture, and our communities.
When Adam Brennan, now a Senior Director of Business Controls and Quality Management, traveled to a leadership meeting in Dallas, TX, last summer, he never imagined that his teammate Randy Bockenstedt would be rushing him to the hospital for an emergency appendectomy or that Head of Operations for Santander Consumer Marc Womack would be sitting by his beside while his wife flew in from Mesa, Arizona. Nor could he have imagined staying at Randy’s house while he recovered. What Adam wasn’t surprised by was the support and care he experienced from his Santander colleagues.
No matter what our Santander colleagues and their families are facing, we want to be there to support them. At Santander, we have put a priority on providing a variety of resources to benefit the mental and emotional well-being of our employees and their dependents. During #BeHealthy Week, we’re shining a spotlight on the mental health benefits we’re proud to offer our colleagues through our medical plan or at no cost.

Santander US acknowledges Celebrate Diversity Awareness Month by continuing to celebrate the different backgrounds and experiences our employees bring and embracing how those differences contribute to a culture of inclusion. Diversity at Santander means more than just race, gender, and ethnicity; it’s the ability to be one’s authentic self. As a company, we are making investments in programs that support psychological safety in the workplace and provide the space for unique individuality. At Santander, diversity is our strength, and we celebrate diversity in all its forms.
