Celebrate this month through appreciating their traditions, and cultural richness which brings a unique diversity to society that we all can benefit from 🙌
For us, volunteering means seeking opportunities to give back to the communities right on our office doorsteps globally. For instance, our team in Fort Worth recently helped cook dinner for 80 residents of the city’s Ronald McDonald House. The House provides a place for families to stay overnight whilst their child is in hospital, reducing the stress and financial burden on parents who need to travel for a child’s healthcare needs. As well as preparing the meal, the team took a tour of the house and met with staff to learn more about the charity’s mission.
Showing purpose with purple 💜 Teams in Australia and New Zealand dressed in violet and made donations for ‘Wear It Purple’ Day, which promotes awareness of young people’s LGBTQI+ experiences and the importance of allyship. As part of the day, employees recorded a podcast, where two members of our PRIDE Employee Inclusion Group discussed inclusivity and role models in the workplace. We strive to create a culture of belonging where all employees can bring their full selves and best ideas.
Our support of green transport is making a buzz in Costa Rica. The ‘Leaders in Economic Electrification’ award from the country’s national electricity supplier, ICE, celebrates our active promotion of renewable energy through our recent project to install chargers for electric vehicles at our Costa Rica facility. Costa Rica aims to be a net-zero emissions economy by 2050 and more than 95% of Costa Rica’s national energy mix is from renewable sources. We’re delighted with the award and will continue to support the sustainability goals of countries we operate in.
Congratulations to the Class of 2024 Hall of Famers! As part of the festivities, we are pleased to have hosted a Ladies Luncheon for the players’ significant others who are “the team behind the team.” 📷 Our team had the honor of celebrating and supporting the Hall of Famers and their families during Enshrinement Week as the Pro Football Hall of Fame's official joint replacement technology partner.
Meet this year's Smith+Nephew Orange Jacket winners! As recognition for all their hard work, we're thrilled to have them join us at this week's Hall of Fame enshrinement week, where they're meeting the Hall of Famers, attending the awards dinner and watching the game. 🏈 We're proud to be the Pro Football Hall of Fame's official joint replacement technology partner.

As a longtime charter partner in cityCURRENT, we used the organization’s Signature Speaker Series event in Memphis to give the charity, Samaritan’s Feet, its time to shine. The global nonprofit donates shoes to children in need as a means advancing their education and economic opportunities. Our relationship with the charity goes back more than 14 years, with our employees using their volunteer hours to organize footwear donations and lend a hand at distribution events. Manny Ohonme, founder and CEO of Samaritan’s Feet, was joined on-stage in conversation with Coach Sue Semrau, former Florida State University Women’s Basketball Head Coach, who has worked with the charity and witnessed its impact first-hand. Smith+Nephew employees then took part in cityCURRENT’s check presentation of $10,000 to Samaritan’s Feet.
Time to pack a bag! Over 30 volunteers from Smith+Nephew Memphis filled backpacks at Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare for young people in the area. We were pleased to join other local organisations to fill 2,000 backpacks containing school essentials such as glue sticks, pencils and notebooks, helping families get ready for the next school year.
