PHOENIX, Arizona – January 27, 2025 – Sunstate Equipment’s Board of Directors has appointed Norty Turner as President & CEO, effective February 10, 2025. He succeeds Chris Watts, who will retire on March 28, 2025, after nearly 30 years of service. “Chris has been an inspiring, values-driven leader who built a strong foundation for growth,” said Marcel Langlois, senior Board Member. “We are well-positioned for the next chapter, and Norty’s deep industry expertise and visionary leadership make him the ideal person to lead Sunstate forward.” Turner brings 30 years of experience in the equipment rental industry, beginning at Hertz Equipment Rental and later holding senior leadership roles at HERC EMEA and Hertz Equipment France. He served as CEO of RIWAL for six years and later as SVP of Services & Advanced Solutions at United Rentals until 2022. “I am honored to join Sunstate and excited to build on its legacy of exceptional service, innovation, and a people-first culture,” said Turner. “Together, we will drive growth, forge lasting partnerships, and shape a future of excellence.” Chris Watts, son of Sunstate founder Mike Watts, expressed gratitude for the company’s success: “Leading this team has been the honor of a lifetime.
