In late February, the Orlando region held its quarterly Supervisor Meeting in person, with over 20 individuals attending. Topics discussed were behavioral detection/crime prevention, workers' safety, a new employee feedback program, and other employee perks available to team members. Regional Manager Travis Miller led the event, and some corporate team members were able to attend and present in person, including Corporate Training Director Kristine Correll, Corporate Training Manager Christine Glenn, and Marketing Manager Meredith Rutledge. In addition to attending the meeting, Kristine, Chrissy, and Meredith were able to visit multiple sites and meet with team members. The training department performed QA1A site visits, ensuring team members had everything they needed, such as guard cards and the correct key tiles/airtags. They also reviewed the SOPMs, making sure they were the updated version, and answered any questions the officers had. Our leadership enjoys visiting and meeting individuals who wear the Sunstates uniform and embrace the company's values during their daily tasks. Meet Shakia Standifer of the Atlanta region. Shakia joined the Sunstates Security team in mid-September 2023, and it took less than a month for her to be promoted to Operations Manager. When Sunstates took over a large account in the Atlanta area, Shakia was acting as an Account Manager at one of the sites. She is passionate about her work and is always empowering and developing her team of officers; we’re grateful for her to be a part of our Atlanta team. Shakia started at her previous company at the distribution center site in 2022 as the Account Manager. Her duties included supervising the day-to-day activities, developing and maintaining effective relationships with clients and employees, and serving as the liaison between our client and our assigned staff. When Sunstates acquired the account, Shakia was essential throughout the transition, helping communicate with the team and support the onboarding process. Prior to her role in the security field, Sakia worked as an Administrative Assistant for nine years. There, her responsibilities were handling administrative requests and queries, organizing and scheduling appointments, planning meetings and taking detailed minutes, and managing a team of eleven employees. https://www.sunstatessecurity.com/security-services-in-atlanta-ga/

Newark Regional Manager Michael Hando delivers Officer/Supervisor of the Month awards to team members in his region for the previous months. Since Site Supervisor Jessica Byers took the lead at the client site, there has been a drastic change in the team’s performance. There are fewer errors, better training, and compliments from the client on how well the site is handled. Site Supervisor Byers has been a valued member of the Sunstates team since June 2022; we're grateful for all she does for the site and our company. Officer Erika Torres received Officer of the Month for her continued reliability and outstanding customer service for our client. While this account has been with Sunstates for just over a year, she has been at this location for the past six! Supervisor Rashaun Graves was awarded in December. He got a big shout-out, and thanks for his work in stopping the theft of client items while performing employee scans. Officer Jennifer Johnson was recognized as Officer of the Month for strictly enforcing client procedures and helping navigate a potential problem when the parent site did not send over the proper documentation to release a large number of trailers from the site where she was working.
