Happy Monday! We’re starting off the week with an Employee Spotlight. Today we’re recognizing Account Manager Elizabeth ‘Liz’ Watson of the Raleigh region for her dedication. Clients and employees alike have glowing things to say about Liz Watson. A member of the Sunstates team since September 2017, Liz started as an Operations Manager in the Raleigh Region. She was promoted to Account Manager due to her excellent relationship with a large client and now works with their many sites. A client representative said, “Liz is doing an excellent job partnering with our company to ensure that Sunstates and their employees are meeting our needs. Liz is available around the clock and works tirelessly on our account. She has proven to be very responsive, proactive and dedicated. Not only are we fond of Liz, but her officers also display genuine respect and trust towards her.” Liz actively visits the sites to converse with the Sunstates employees and ensure they have everything they need to succeed. Two remarkable Regional Managers celebrated their fifth anniversary with Sunstates! Adam Smith of the Central region and Ryan Henricks of Greensboro have been essential to the growth and success of their territories. Sunstates welcomes Dennis Dunning to the Greensboro management team. An experienced security professional, Dennis joined Sunstates in August 2021 as the Operations Manager for the Greensboro, NC region. In this role, Dennis is the point of contact for multiple clients and manages over 50 officers. Additionally, he will oversee employee screening and hiring, scheduling, job performance and be the liaison for the employees. Dennis’s security experience is comprised of positions in the US and overseas. He has been a member of the US Army and Reserves since 2000, where he has worked as a Combat Medic and a Radiologic Technologist. Prior to Sunstates, Dennis worked for a property management company where he created and implemented company guidelines and policies as well as screened and hired new employees. His communication and organizational abilities are a huge benefit for his new position with Sunstates. Dennis graduated from UNC Greensboro with a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources and Economics and is currently studying his Master’s in Business Administration at Liberty

Congrats to Anitra Prempeh on her promotion to Regional Manager of the Mid-Atlantic! Joining the Sunstates Security team in 2019, Anitra has over 18 years of contract security experience. Initially fulfilling the role of Operations Manager, she was promoted to Senior Operations Manager in early 2021. Her proven management capabilities combined with rapid new business expansion within the Mid-Atlantic region presented the opportunity for further internal growth. As a result, in September 2021 she was promoted to Regional Manager. Sunstates welcomes Ronald Ashley to the Charlotte management team. With over ten years in the security field, the last five being in an Operations Management role, Ronald will be an excellent fit for his position in the Charlotte, NC region. His communication skills, team player approach and positive attitude are acknowledged by clients and employees alike.
Site Supervisor Eve Hagert has been an outstanding representative of the Sunstates team at a Sioux Falls, SD site. In fact, twice in the past few months, she was recognized for her excellent performance. First, for her actions on a Friday in September, site security was dispatched to the bank branch attached to the facility for a disruptive subject. At Eve's arrival, the subject had escalated his aggression and was becoming physically aggressive. She took a position between the subject, the staff and other guests. She took control of the conversation, deescalated his behavior, helped him finish his business, and escorted him out of the branch. After the incident, the Branch Manager told the Site President about Eve's efforts and how she appreciated her professionalism and conducted herself with confidence. As a result, Eve received a Sunstates recognition card and certificate of appreciation from Regional Leadership.
Christopher Attucks recently was promoted to the Compliance Manager position. He’s been a vital part of the Sunstates compliance team for almost two years and is ready to take on more responsibility. With his new role, he will be working directly under the VP of General Counsel, David Kleiman. Chris will be managing the state agency and officer licensing, background and drug screening, probationary and termination reports, vehicle inspections and more. Chris has shown incredible dedication, attention to detail, and a can-do attitude.
