๐ In honor of International Volunteer Day! ๐ Weโre excited to share highlights from our recent volunteer day with the Tri-state business unit! On Saturday, November 9, volunteers came together at Helen Allison Savanna in Minnesota to cut and treat invasive buckthorn along the firebreak on the south side of the property. ๐ณ๐ Participants also learned about the natural history and ecology of the unique oak savanna ecosystem at Helen Allison. The event concluded with the collection of late-season native seeds, including Thimbleweed, for future TNC restorations. ๐ฑ๐ผ A huge thank you to all our amazing volunteers for their hard work and dedication! ๐ #InternationalVolunteerDay #Volunteer #Conservation

Our team members in the Tri-State Business Unit recently had the wonderful opportunity to travel to Omaha for Staff Enrichment Week (SEW). SEW is a week-long learning opportunity for staff from all areas, levels, and positions. It helps develop organizational and global conservation knowledge, enhance professional skills, offer personal enrichment, and provide networking with colleagues worldwide. It also builds camaraderie and enthusiasm to tackle the greatest environmental challenges of our time. During SEW, our Tri-State team enjoyed reconnecting with familiar faces and meeting new ones, including our new division director, Ben Postlethwait. SEW highlighted the incredible work TNC staff and partners are achieving worldwide and underscored the strength of our diverse, global community. It also revealed who among us is brave enough to share their voice during an evening of karaoke (spoiler alert: it wasnโt any of us)! SEW has connected TNCโs most valued asset, our people, to our purpose. We are grateful for the teams who help make this event possible and look forward to future opportunities to come together and grow. #Tri-State #Teambonding ยฉ Angelica Anderson
