As a kid, Tyrone Ellis didn't know his love for science and math could lead to a successful career in engineering. It wasn't until a Black engineer visited his school that the spark to pursue an engineering career was ignited in Tyrone. Since then, and throughout his successful engineering career, he has committed to continuously giving back to his community. He's especially passionate about exposing young children to STEM and enabling experiences that encourage curiosity and propel them into STEM careers.
Braden Heisler, a Penn State industrial engineering student, had planned to spend his summer in Columbia, South Carolina, where he landed an internship in Trane Technologies commercial HVAC facility. But when COVID-19 disrupted plans for just about everyone, our team pivoted and transformed our in-person internship program into a virtual one.
