🇺🇸 After serving four years as a paratrooper in the U.S. Army's 82nd Airborne Division and three years as a Cavalry Scout in the Army Reserve, Fayetteville, North Carolina Technician Kenneth (Ken) Hall recently re-enlisted in the North Carolina Army National Guard as a 19 Delta. Ken's goal is to become a helicopter pilot while serving in the National Guard. During his re-enlistment ceremony, Ken invited his USIC team members and presented Operations Manager Dave Yackel with a plaque from the Army National Guard, recognizing his outstanding support for employees in the military. West Oklahoma technicians and heroes Anthony Miller and Sarah Morrison were performing a locate near a highway when they witnessed a passing vehicle pull to the shoulder and ignite in flames. They ran to assist the driver, who was not injured; set out safety cones to alert oncoming traffic; and stayed with the distraught woman until first responders arrived. Thank you, Sarah and Anthony, for coming to the aid of a member of our community and keeping her and other motorists safe.
West Texas Technician and Hero Michael James served with the Briar-Reno Fire Department for 25 years (22 as a volunteer and 3 as a career firefighter) before retiring in 2022. In 2017, Michael was a member of a team of firefighters and EMTs deployed to South Texas following Hurricane Harvey that rescued more than 200 people and their pets stranded in their homes. Thank you, Michael, for your service to your community and your brave rescues of those put in danger by a natural disaster.
