Our SKO looks a little different this year! We are so excited to welcome our employees to the world of virtual reality, sharing opportunities for everyone to meet up with their teams in virtual games, meetings, and much more. Over the last few weeks, our employees around the world received an amazing surprise package containing an Oculus, some cozy socks, a popper toy, and t-shirt! We can’t wait to show everyone what we have in store for SKO 2022!
September 15 to October 15 marks the celebration of Hispanic and Latinx Heritage Month! During this month and beyond, we celebrate the rich culture, contributions, and extensive histories of Latinx, Hispanic, and all of the individuals who hold these identities. Hispanic and Latinx Heritage Month started in 1968 as the Hispanic Heritage Week. In 1988, it expanded to a 30-day period keeping the September 15 start date because it coincides with national independence day of Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua and Costa Rica. Similarly, Mexico celebrates on the 16th, Chile on the 18th and Belize on the 21st. We are excited to put the spotlight on our very own Hispanic and Latinx team members where they help immerse us into their rich cultures by sharing family traditions, holidays, food, music and many things that bring them joy. Varonis is committed to creating a change in the communities we live in. Several years ago, we developed a voluntary employee program to create opportunities for underprivileged students in the hopes that we could meaningfully impact the communities around us. These are some testimonials of the students who participated in the different programs; from life skills and financial skills workshops, through internships and ongoing mentoring, this is how we were able to impact their lives. Our hope is that more companies will consider making use of the programs that we’ve developed. Today, more than ever, it is so important to keep kids focused and supported. Today is #GivingTuesday, a global movement that aims to inspire hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity. At Varonis, we recognize that it is our social responsibility to be a positive influence on our communities and to give back to help further the development and quality of life of our surrounding communities. Maintaining a social environment and cultivating team cohesion remains a priority here at Varonis. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Varonis has been hosting virtual skill-sharing classes called V-Talks to keep our employees engaged and social. Some of these interactive classes included Dog Training 101, Guitar Basics, Stretching, HIIT class, Video Editing, and 3D Printing! What a fantastic way to connect and share skills and passions with each other.
