Veritext Sales, Marketing and Management team members recently raised $50,000 in donations for the Ocean Discovery Institute as part of our Veritext Cares initiatives! The Ocean Discovery Institute is located in City Heights, San Diego a community that is about 10 miles from the Pacific coast and is rich in diversity but lacking in material resources. This San Diego community is burdened by poverty, with 43% living at the federal poverty level or below and over 94% of students eligible for federal free or reduced lunch programs. More than one-third of the population has not graduated from high school. The generosity of the Veritext Team was received with deep appreciation and astonishment by Carla Pisbe Camacho, Ocean Discovery Institute Manager of Business Development. The children at Ocean Discovery Institute are allowed to celebrate in certain ways when large funding comes in – and they were able to “ring the bell” in gratitude for the Veritext Team’s moving gift!
