Each year Veritext holds an internal "Summer Camp" where team members gather together within their respective offices for two weeks of learning, fun, and team-building. This year, due to the current pandemic, Summer Camp was in an area SO remote, you could virtually ZOOM right past it! Click through to read more!

Today we want to acknowledge and applaud Susan Wollenweber Dezelan, Court Reporter from Indiana! "I have shared my masks with the assisted living facility in my neighborhood, a group home that a friend manages, a nurse care manager who has clients in several nursing homes in the area, and, of course, friends and family. Sewing these masks helps empower me during a very disempowering time. It’s good to know that I can do this one thing to help out when I know there are so many suffering with this virus and so many first-responders putting their lives on the line. We will get through this!"
Today we want to acknowledge and applaud Rochelle Burnett-Baum, Veritext Account Executive in Los Angeles, CA: "I have been making greeting cards with my 5-year-old son (pictured above) to send to hospice patients with the hope that it will help to brighten their day! Many local nursing homes are restricting visitors & families so hospice patients are not being visited during this virus outbreak. We’re enjoying drawing pictures & writing thoughtful notes to the patients." Create a card for a hospice patient | Love For The Elderly: https://lovefortheelderly.org/
Today we would like to acknowledge and applaud Paul Simpson, Veritext Senior Technical Services Specialist from Baltimore. MD: "Right before the majority of businesses shut down I purchased a low-end 3D printer as a way to learn some new skills while our family is in isolation. At first, I was printing toys for my two young girls to keep them busy, but I soon found out about projects that were in the works to use this technology to fight the pandemic. I recently found out about a local group here in Baltimore called We The Builders that is crowdsourcing the printing of face shields. The pieces are then assembled and delivered to hospitals that requested them. It is a new and effective way to create a supply chain for PPE equipment during this crisis. I am working on printing as many of these face bands as I can and delivering them to Open Works over the weekend."
Today we would like to acknowledge and applaud Jennifer Brennan, Court Reporter from New York: "My brother is an RN at Mount Sinai South Nassau Hospital’s Emergency Department. I have a sewing machine, although I am not a seamstress, I was determined to make masks for him and his fellow nurses! I googled how to make masks and off I went! Just seeing how happy this made him and his colleagues, was so worth it! I am so proud of my brother and all of our frontline workers and essential workers!"
Today we would like to acknowledge and applaud Dion Rupa, Veritext Bankruptcy Manager from Mineola, NY: “I am part of the 3D printing community and we are doing all we can right now to supply those in need of masks and shields. I already had one 3D printer but purchased another -- one prints various plastics and the other one resin. With the two printers I can now create both face masks and face shields at the same time. Each mask takes about 4 hours to print and is made from PLA plastic. These masks are reusable and washable. The only thing that needs to be changed is the small filter that is housed in the front. I am working on sourcing a filter than can be adapted for the masks. Once I have a good amount of masks printed I am going to donate them to a local hospital." Today we would like to acknowledge and applaud Penny Pennline, Court Reporter from New York: “I came to Pennsylvania to help out my parents during this trying time and I volunteered for Meals on Wheels delivering food to the elderly and people who can’t shop for themselves. It is a very rewarding volunteer position. This is my best friend Johnny! He is who I work with and has volunteered every single day for years and knows everyone. We call him Number One Volunteer!” Are you giving back to your community during this time? Share Your Care with us at care@veritext.com!
