To close out our WinnCompanies celebration of Women’s History Month, we recognize Lynne Chase, Chief Accounting Officer and Board Member. Lynne attributes her success to the strong female influences in her life, “The strongest female influence for me is my Mom. From a very young age, she impressed upon me the importance of being self-sufficient. At the time I rolled my eyes at her. Yes, I was that kid! My Mom gave me a gift. The gift to continually challenge myself to grow and the gift to take care of myself.” “I am also grateful to Annellen Pulsifer, President of First Resource Management Company”, she said. “Thirty years ago, when she was the Accounting Manager at Winn Management, she took a chance on a 22-year-old college graduate with limited experience. At the time, she could not have known the incredible opportunity she was giving me. Whatever it was that she saw in me at that moment in time that I had not yet seen in myself, I am grateful. It’s a reminder to me to be mindful of the difference we are able to make in another’s life.”
WinnResidential teams across the country have been working hard to connect our eligible residents with COVID-19 vaccines through on and off-site clinics. These efforts demonstrate both our commitment to our residents and our faith in the efficacy and safety of the approved vaccines. The Alice G. Winn and Family Heritage House partnered with the Newburyport Housing Authority, Newburyport Board of Health, and Element Care to host a vaccine clinic for their residents at the Newburyport Senior Center.
Today, we recognize WinnCompanies’ Chief Financial Officer Sue Malatesta in honor of Women’s History Month. Sue made history at WinnCompanies as the first female Board Member. She attributes her success to strong mentors and encourages other women in business to surround themselves with other strong women. “I also learn a lot from reading books,” she said. “Two books that I learned so much from, which were both written by strong women, are Becoming by Michelle Obama and Lean In by Sheryl Sandberg. I highly recommend these books to anyone, male or female, looking to advance their career!”
