This past year performance bonus' were virtually non-existent unless you were promoted.

You will feel like you're doing a poor job when you see this number. Maybe the higher ups get to see an actual bonus, but don't expect to see a bonus more than 3 digits long until you've been working there for at least 4 years

Performance Bonus for me has always seemed generous, but is tied to your annual review rating. If you are not well-represented or you do not participate in documenting your objectives and self-input prior to the annual review, you may not receive a very good rating or bonus.

Not very rewarding and jaw dropping

Very good - meritocracy is strictly followed. But still, Leadership takes much more than the mid level management.

Performance bonus is based on 2 factors. 1) Company performance (350,000 employees) - you don't have any control over this 2) Hot Skills: If you are working in the right area you get a bonus
