It allowed different options depending on what your status was in life or your own personal preference. Everything was covered from vision, to dental, to medical.

Most employees here choose the high deductible plan. That way we pay zero every month from our pay. Most of us choose the HSA (Health Saving Acct) or the (Health Spending Acct). I have the HSA. ConocoPhillips contributes $750 on your card at the beginning of the year to help you. You designate how much money you want to go on your card each month. You can change it to a higher amt. but you cannot lower it. So make sure you know exactly how much you wish to go on your HSA or your spending acct. I like the HSA cause any money on that card/acct rolls over at the end of the year. On the other one you use it, or request a refund before end of year or you lose that money. (I think that's standard with any plan.) We have the family plan. 4 people. My spouse, Me, our daughter and my step daughter. Just a word of advise...if you have a child that is not yours but you provide care for them, such as you are their legal guardian, or conservator...you must adopt the child or they cannot be covered on the insurance plan here. I had to adopt my now daughter in order for her to be covered otherwise I would of had to of found a different insurance company to cover her. My step daughter...she was automatically covered because she was the actual daughter of my spouse. I am the carrier of the insurance for the family not my husband. We currently have Aetna insurance, which I like. I don't like CVS Caremark, I preferred that I had a choice to go where I wanted to have prescriptions filled. They say CVS Caremark is lower but I don't actually think so. Several of my daughters medications are not covered by the insurance due to the nature of her illness. (Not really fair!!! But that's how it is.) You can pick your doctor as long as he's in the network, which is fine for us as our PCP has always been our family doctor which we liked. The overall plan is much better than what I hear from other people and their company insurance plans.

The health coverage is typical of big companies; no better, no worse.
