It really depends on your project whether you can work from home. You also need to be online a lot - I ALWAYS checked email and worked after hours.

Depends entirely on the contract - some are happy to do it, some are not. In general managers are fine with you doing it so long as you're transparent and are in the office for meetings you absolutely must attend.
