It's very thorough and tasty

The job training at Starbucks is extremely brief and non-specific.

Very hit and miss, only certified on hot bar, not cold bar. Laptop training malfunctioned, store manager covering two other stores not available to help.

Starbucks hover over and beyond in their job training.

They boast about their training programs but that actually relies on the efficiency of the store and the quality of the manager. Many employees are thrown on the floor without training and horribly humiliated by customers.

it is a good idea, but it isn't followed by every manager, so there can be a huge discrepancy in training for any barista. either you get really well trained baristas or horribly trained baristas. try working a shift with 5 out of the 8 people on the floor being badly trained, it is horrible.

They offer 2 full weeks of paid training

The training is done in the store just trying to get you to a point where you can join the team and get going with helping out the store. Then the DM will notice months after that you haven't completed online training and will make your store manager rush you through it.

Depends on the manager, my first store trained me the right way and the best way. My current store doesn't train our baristas at all.
