The best part of Army health insurance is its comprehensive coverage—everything from preventive care and mental health to gender-affirming care, including menopause treatment for women and testosterone therapy for men. As an active-duty service member, I never had to worry about co-pays or deductibles, which made it easier to seek care proactively.
The downside is that access can vary based on location. In some areas, there may be long wait times or limited availability of specialty care, which can be frustrating when trying to get timely treatment.

Free healthcare is awesome. Healthcare may not be the most convenient to navigate.
